The building is gone....
but our spirit lives on!
Hello, this is Fred May and welcome to the revised and evolving WCHS Class of ’64 website. Even if you’ve been to this website before, you may want to read this brief ‘reintroduction’ as a number of changes have been and will continue to be made.
I created this website several years back to provide a communication platform for our 50 year class reunion. The website worked well for that very successful landmark event. This year I am updating the site to celebrate our 60 year reunion. While the 55 year reunion was another great gathering of classmates, it had a much smaller attendance. As I read the various messages of regret from those would not be attending, it became clear to me that it was time to shift gears and adapt to the changes most of us are experiencing.
It seems large events every five years needs to give way to smaller, less ambitious, and possibly more frequent gatherings. Even though life seems to be becoming more complicated, I don’t believe there is any loss of interest in our shared memories, our old and new friendships, and sharing how our lives have progressed from our history in the Wheaton area.
Now, with all the dramatic events and new realities impacting our lives, I believe we can and will still find value in reflecting on our ‘good old days’ and heritage. And as we survive, hopefully we can take part in retaining or even perhaps restoring that which we remember and love.
I do hope you will continue to drop in, find things of interest, and perhaps even contribute as we strive to stay in touch with one another.
Best regards,
