Health Report
I am happy to report that Barbara and I are well past our troubles with Covid.
Thank you again for your get well wishes.

Updates on Who Is Attending
With the necessary date shift there have been additions and losses.
As you let me know your plans, I will be updating at least daily during this count down week.

Regarding the Saturday Zoom Session
I will be contacting each of you who want to participate in the Zoom session with all the details.

Passing Along Greetings
Many of you have sent me email messages with greetings and more.
I would like to share these with the rest of our classmates on the website Message Board.
In its simplest form it will be to pass on your greetings and well wishes.
However, I can easily add a quick selfie you send or text me, along with any additions.

If you would like to do or add to your pass along message, please email me at fred.may@wchsclassof1964.com with any questions and I’ll assist you.

If emails you sent me had updates of contact information, these will be recorded in my database.
For the foreseeable future, I will continue to use this information to help classmates reach each other.

An OMG! Update

First I want to thank all of you for sending get well wishes to Barbara. She is doing much better.

Next, I still feel great but I tested this morning and I got a positive covid result :-(

This is not a concern for me as I have had Covid before and it had little impact on me.
I am fortunate to be a little different than most. The only time I have gone to a hospital was to visit someone. But even though I may feel fine, I will be technically contagious.

So, I hope you will agree it is time for Plan B. Unlike some, I actually do have a plan.

Primarily for the benefit of the many with health concerns, I am delaying the event until Saturday, September 28th. That should ensure that this inopportune strike of Covid in my house should be finished. Also from feedback I’ve gotten, I’ll probably modify the party plan bit.

For those who might only be in the area this Saturday, I have two suggestions.

First, even though I will not be able to join you, a great suggestion has been made. How about a luncheon get together on Saturday? Perhaps Ki’s on North Avenue in Glendale Heights, upscale, took a prom date there. Or, Cooper’s Corner on Roosevelt Road in Winfield, newer popular spot, more casual. The first one to make a reservation and invite the group is in charge.

Second, for some this may be the only opportunity for you to make an in person visit to my humble abode. If you are comfortable with a socially distanced, mask on visit, please feel free to stop by my deck and back yard to have a drink Saturday afternoon or evening.

Finally, the Zoom option seems to be catching on. It will also move to Saturday the 28th. If you have not already indicated you want to be part of that option, please let me know. Next week I will refine how that will work and help as needed / requested with technical assistance, try it you’ll like tests, etc.

Sorry for the need for changes but on the bright side this now presents two opportunities to get together.

So now I am asking that each of you check your schedule. Please email me at fred.may@wchsclassof1964.com with any questions or plan changes you may have.

An Urgent Concern For The Reunion Party

I feel the need to briefly visit with those who are planning to attend the Saturday party.

I want to make you aware of a possible concern and get your feedback.

Sunday, Barbara and I went on an outing with a group of friends biking along the Fox River. We traveled trails through forest and fields. The next morning, Monday, Barbara woke up sniffling and sneezing. We discounted it to a possible allergic reaction to the great out of doors. The condition persisted and the next morning, Tuesday, we decided to check to see if it might be Covid. Unfortunately, the test was positive.

Now I had been sort of isolating from Barbara since Monday morning. Even though I love her, the red runny nose and sneezing did not draw me close to her. Staying somewhat isolated, I waited till this morning (Sept. 11) to test myself. I have had no symptoms of any sort and tested negative.

We talked about the possible impact on the party and Barbara offered that she could easily remain isolated in the second floor of our home during the party. Our second floor has adequate living space and a separate HVAC system. Saturday morning, I will thoroughly air out and clean the first floor to prepare for guests.

With all that said, I want to confer with each of you to accommodate any concerns you may have.

I recall from the epidemic that many people had different ideas on what adequate precautions were needed.

So I am asking that each of you planning to attend please email me at fred.may@wchsclassof1964.com with any questions or concerns you may have.

Regards, Fred
